Two parties in one day!!!!

Saturday we went to two different birthday parties. The first party was for our friend Beau. He turned three years old. He had a party at the Big Orange Pumpkin Farm. It was a rainy morning so we dressed in our rainboots. The rain didn't slow us down much though, it just kept the crowd away. At the pumpkin patch the kids got to feed the animals, and ride a hayride. Court and Addie loved feeding the pets. Addie just might take after her Grandaddy Corley and be a veterinarian when she grows up. Court would go up to the animal and in the sweetest voice say "here you go" it was rather cute. Here are pics from the pumpkin party

The next party was for a new friend named Ava, she is a neighbor down the street she turned 4. She had a princess party, (no boys aloud). It was the cutest thing. Belle, from beauty and the beast was there. All the girls got to put princess dresses on and Belle, personally did there make up and glitter. Addie was way into this. Belle read the girls a story, showed them how to wave like a princess, they made crowns. Then they had a royal feast of peanut butter and jelly, fruit and chips. They even sipped lemonade out of crystal glasses. The cake was unbelievable and Ava's mom made it. I was so impressed with her talent, amazing. And of course here are some pics...

Fossil rim

We went to Fossil Rim a couple of weekends ago. It is a wildlife preserve in Glen Rose, Texas. I highly recommend going especially if you have kids. You get to take your own car and drive through feeding all the animals. These animals are not shy they come right up to your car to eat out of your hand. I wasn't nervous until the ostrich. He had some crazy eyes and looked like he was about to reach in the car a pull an arm off or something. I rolled the windows up we we got to him. Unfortunately I didn't get any good pictures of ostrich but I did get these. I hope you enjoy.

Ballet

Addie started ballet the same week she started back to school. She couldn't have been more excited. She was also thrilled to be in a class with her friend Abi. She has known Abi since she was 4 months old, they were in the same infant day care class together. I was never much of a ballet fan myself, but Addie seems to love it. They do a lot with them in the class, I figured they were just going to play music and have the girls dance around, figuring they are 3 and 4 but they have a lot of structure and I actually see progress. They stretch, do leaps, work on feet position and learn a little choreography. I have to admit is very cute. As always here's a pic.

Back To School

The kids started back to preschool September 7th. This is their first year at their new school and they seem to love it so far, Addie has Ms. Toni and Court has Ms. Elizabeth. Court's class is all boys!!!! After teaching preschool myself I can't imagine a class of all boys. But Ms. Elizabeth has the best attitude and is always happy and smiling. She gives me a hug everytime I come to pick up Court and tells me what a sweet boy he is. Addie teacher is pretty neat too she teaches preschool then leaves everyday to drive the bus. A lady of many talents, and once again always happy and greets me with a smile. Ms. Tricia is Ms. Toni's assistant and has taken a real liking to Addie, which definitely makes me feel great and happy that more people get to love on my kids. Her are a few pics from the first and second day of school. We took more on the second day considering the first day was pouring down rain and I didn't have an extra hand for the camera.

The first day, indoor picture due to the rain outside

The second day

love..

This school is a little different than the last. The kids have to pack a lunch, a snack and their napmats everyday. I don't think my kids appreciate all the extra things to carry.

How we spent our summer

Went grocery shopping at Market street...

Saw more rainbows than I can remember, this one was the first we saw and from the back seat Addie says, "I've waited for years to see a rainbow like that"

Spent as much time as possible in our swimsuits...

Continued to be terrified of the carwash...

Played in the rain...

ate ice cream....

and watched Daddy win at his bike races!!!!

Blackmail

Court is a mama's boy for sure, I sure hope he always stays that way if not I have some major blackmail for him. He loves his big sister Addie and also loves to dress up with her. Don't worry he likes all things boy as well.

Fun in Cowtown

We have been planning on going on the trantula train that leaves from Fort Worth for many months. Mom was coming in town so we figured it would be a great thing to do Saturday afternoon. Soon as Court woke up from his nap we headed out to Fort Worth which is about an hour away, it was worth the drive. We decided to get the air conditioned caboose tickets. This was nice for the obvious reason it was in the high 90s that day, but also because we had the caboose to ourselves along with one other family. They had two little kids with them as well, so we were in good company. We did have a slightly goofy tour guide though that was very proud of his train and town, but it made it fun. Here are some pics.

Waiting to get on the train, Court wasn't so sure of the mechanical horse.

Addie is actually a very cautious little girl, she has never been described as a dare devil, but riding horses has always been something she likes to do. It amazes us that she doesn't want us right next to her when on a horse, go figure.

Houston for the 4th

We went to Houston to celebrate with my family for the Fourth this year. We had a great time swimming at Aunt Lindsey's parent's pool and going to watch Fireworks at Faithbridge church. It was a late night for the kids, since we had to park at Klein highschool be shuttled over to the church then shuttled back. I don't think we made it back home till 11 or so. The kids were troopers though they were exhausted the next day. Here are some pics.

Addie has turned into a fish this summer, thanks to her swim teacher MiMi and all the trips to the neighborhood pool.

This is Court's favorite thing to do in the pool, He jumps off the side before you are there to catch him sometimes

These eyelashes make my heart melt.

Father's Day 2010

We had a great day celebrating Daddy. Mike got up early to go to the bike track to practice. This gave us plenty of time to shower, clean the house and run and get a cookie cake for him just in time to surprise him when he was done with his practice. He walked out of the track and was shocked to see us there all ready to take him out for his father's day lunch. He jumped in the car and we headed off to Pappadeux's one of all of our favorite places to eat. After lunch we came home to enjoy the cookie cake. Here is Addie showing off the cake. We had a great day loving and celebrating Daddy.

Birthday Party for two!!!

With the kids birthdays being so close together, we decided to do a double party. We did this last year at "My Gym" when they turned 1 and 3 and had such a great time we thought we would do the same for when they turned 2 and 4. Once again it was great fun, we had tons of kids there!! My Gym does such a great job with their parties and both Addie and Court felt special. Addie had a butterfly cake and Court had a train cake. Addie loved wrapping all the favors and giving them to her friends at the party. We made name necklaces for the girls and gave build and paint it yourself trains to the boys. Here are a few pics from the party.
