Third time is a charm

We have had the kids birthday parties at My gym for three years now. We think we want to do something different every year but when we ask the kids what they want it's always a my gym party. The kids birthdays are three weeks apart so we have always just done a double birthday party. It's worked out great. This year it was a turning 3 and turning 5 party as well as a going away party.

My favorite pic, both blowing their candle at the same time

ballet

This was Addie's first year to take a dance class. She took a preschool combo ballet/tap class she seemed to really like it. I think her favorite part was practicing for the big show. She definietly likes to perform and have people look at her so this was right up her alley. She took with her good friend Abby.

Addie and Court. Do you think Addie is just a little proud of her flowers?

My baby turns 3

My baby boy turned 3 in May. I was a little emotional about it as he is no longer a baby anymore. Court has been a momma's boy since he was born. I remember a nurse at the hospital when he was born commenting on how comfortable he was as soon as he got in my arms. Nothing has changed. He brightens our day everyday with his smile, contagious laugh, hilarious expressions and the things he says. I personally think he is very cute as well and will be a heartbreaker when he grows up. He doesn't like anyone to be sad and will give hugs if he thinks you are sad. He is incredible easy going. He will get upset when he doesn't get something he wants then he thinks about it quits crying wipes his eyes and in the sweetest voice say "Ok". It makes it really hard not to give in sometimes. Whenever he gets hurt, is sad, is tired, or just needs some loving, he curls up next to me and rubs my ear. It is the funniest thing, I thought he would have grown out of it by now but I guess there will be plenty of time for that another day. We planned a birthday party for both the kids at My gym party place two weeks after his birthday so on his actual birthday we took him to Joe's Crab Shack. We like going there with the kids since our kids love crab and the playground that is connected to the patio. Here are some pictures of Court at dinner. When he woke up on his birthday we ask him what he wanted to do and he said "blow candles". Well little buddy that's easy enough.

Excited to get his cake

Getting a little shy when everyone starts singing

Looking forward to blowing his candle out

another favorite place

I wish I had some more pictures of this place because it is awesome. It is at the village of Fairview shopping center. They have fountains that the kids love to play in and a sand playground. It's like being at the beach in north Texas well I guess without the ocean. Not quite the same but still fun.

We meet Braeden, Kason and Ms. Heather there a lot as it is one of their favorite places too.

favorite places

One of our favorite places in Dallas to visit every spring is the Arboretum. The flowers are absolutely gorgeous. It's a great place to have a picnic and take pictures. Addie loves getting her picture taken, Court not so much as seen in the pictures below.

Me attempting to take Court's picture.

On Tuesdays they have a circle time. The kids love dancing and singing and listening to the books.

Our friend Emily who meet us at the Arboretum, three little kids trying to share one wagon is always "fun"

Going Away Party:(

My sweet friend Dianna, which I have known since Addie was 4 months old when both of our girls started in day care together organized a going away party for me. Dianna and I bonded instantly, both being teachers, living in Frisco, having girls a week apart from each other, and then having boys 9 months apart from each other we had a lot in common. We also have a mutual hatred for Cancer and became running buddies with TNT to get in shape and help find a cure for cancer. When I knew we would be moving, I knew I would really miss Dianna. I was very touched when she put together the party for me to say "goodbye" to some of my closest friends.

This is Teresa, baby Audrey, Christine, Me and Katie(fellow special education friends from FISD) I will miss our monthly girls night outs. It was such a stress reliever getting together with these girls and gabbing about husbands, kids, work, etc. so much fun and I will miss them so much.

This is Nichole my neighbor from Griffin Parc and Andrea my neighbor from Panther Creek. I was so fortunate to be neighbors and friends with both of these girls. I will miss being so close to them and raising our kids on the same street. I loved having our chats. I looked up to both Nichole and Andrea as they are both outstanding mothers. I will still be calling both of them for their advice and take on things. Love you girls.

Where do I begin, this is Stacey and Heather. Yes, they look alike, there twins. Anyways, Heather and I meet teaching at Pink elementary. We bonded when we were pregnant at the same time with our first borns. We were both at the doctor when we found out she was having a boy and I was having a girl. I had no idea how much time and how close I would become with her then. I think we have averaged a least two playgroups, lunches, or get togethers since our babies have been born. Heather has always been there for me and I will miss her terribly.

Rachel and Angela. Rachel and I have worked together for almost 3 years at First Methodist of Carrollton on Wednesday mornings. I loved working with Rachel as she loves kids as much as I do and is also layed back and fun. She also has a boy and a girl, so we had plenty to talk about. I will miss seeing her and catching up every week. Angela was my roommate in Lewisville, right before I married Mike. We lived together for 3 years. She was the best roommate and is so much fun and beautiful as you can see. I am hoping to actually see her still a lot since her parents live in Germantown. Yeah for me!!!

catching up! let's start with Easter

Wow! so much has happened in the past couple of months and I have had no energy at the end of the day to catch up on the blog, We have had big changes in the Smith Household, mainly we moved to MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE! Who would of thought that we would ever move away from Texas. Anyways that will be in another blog let's catch up. I stopped at Spring Break last, so let me update you on Easter. We spent Easter in Dallas with just the four of us. We went to one of our favorite brunch places. Kathleen's sky diner. We will miss going there for sure.
Here are just a few pics of the kids diving in to there Easter candy and at the restaurant.
